Barack W. Wanjawa, member no. 0270, has been a member of Utafiti SACCO for over 15-years. He is currently an Engineering supervisor at ILRI Nairobi, and is a registered engineer, with a passion for information technologies. He has previously served in the SACCO board in the years 2009-2019. His previous achievements in the board include being an advocate for member education when serving in the education committee. He was instrumental in continuous member information updates in the Did-you-know series, a newsletter targeting important SACCO issues for direct communication to members. He was in the team that ensured direct engagement with member organization through visits to such institutions to ensure that all institutions feel and are connected to the headquarters. He communicates well and timely, as demonstrated during his tenure as the Secretary of the SACCO. He assisted the Chairman to spearhead the SACCO vision of improvement savings and interest payments when he served as the Vice-Chairman. He was among the initiators and founding member of Utafiti Housing Cooperative, a subsidiary of the SACCO which has benefitted the members by provision of land at various places around Nairobi.
