About me

Wanjiku Kiarie is a Strategic Operations and Business Transformation Leader with global experience. She currently manages global operations in International Development at CABI, an Inter-Governmental International Organization. With over 15 years of experience, she has a proven track record of streamlining systems, policies, and processes to drive operational efficiency, improve governance structures, and enhance risk management in complex, multi-regional organizations.

Professional Experience

At CABI, Wanjiku drives operational excellence by optimizing business operations, strengthening internal controls, ensuring compliance, and embedding risk mitigation strategies that enhance organizational resilience. She has successfully led global process improvement initiatives, harmonizing procedures and systems to enhance efficiency, adaptability, and strategic alignment. With expertise in project management, financial management, and operational streamlining, she plays a key role in building strong, efficient, and future-ready organizations. Before joining CABI, she worked with the Danish Refugee Council and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, gaining extensive experience in governance, humanitarian operations, and institutional strengthening. Beyond her professional work, she dedicates her time to coaching and mentoring women and girls in personal development, helping them build confidence, clarity, and leadership in their own journeys.

Wanjiku holds an MBA (International Business), is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA K), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and PRINCE2 practitioner in project management. She has expertise in business process transformation, strategic management, and operational agility, applying structured methodologies to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and embed a culture of continuous improvement. Passionate about innovation, she has led digitization initiatives and business continuity planning, ensuring organizations remain agile, adaptive, and well-positioned for sustained growth in dynamic environments.
